“I think that women can be just completely surprised by the change in them from
giving birth … you have something powerful in you … that fierce thing comes up … and I think babies need Mums to have that fierceness … you feel like you can do anything and that’s the feeling we want Mums to have."
Ina May Gaskin
Hello and thank you for visiting my website.
After taking time out after the birth of my third baby, Ezra, in April 2019, I am thrilled to be back supporting women and families in pregnancy and birth with Hypnobirthing courses and postnatal as a Postnatal Doula.
Courses are now available to book for 2020! See classes page for dates.
I’m really looking forward to exciting changes to my group courses. Please bear with me as I update information on the website. Dates for new weekend workshops are now available. I’ll be explaining more really soon but for now just get in touch for more information.
For regular posts, information and inspiration about pregnancy, birth and being a new parent find me on Facebook and Instagram.
I also run the Positive Birth Movement East Lancashire which you can find at
https://www.facebook.com/pbmeastlancashire/ which provides free monthly sessions. I am in the process of moving these sessions to a new venue in Blackburn so watch this space for news about forthcoming dates.
Looking forward to working with you and supporting you in 2020.

Welcome to the world Ezra!
A Gentle Journey provides practical, informational and emotional support for you and your family along every step of your journey through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
Pregnancy should be a time when you can embrace the emotional and physical changes that you are experiencing without fear or anxiety. Your pregnancy is yours and yours alone, it does not compare to anyone else’s. Whether it is your first pregnancy or your fifth it is essential that you allow yourself to prepare your mind and body for what is to come
Birth should be a positive experience for every woman. It does not matter when you birth, where you birth or how you birth. What matters is that you are respected and supported in the choices you make. What matters is that your decisions are based on fact and you are given the power to make those decisions with confidence. What matters is that you are given the time and space to allow your body to do what it was designed to do.
The days, weeks and months after a new baby is born should be free from unrealistic expectations and the pressure to return to ‘normality’. You deserve to take time to adjust to parenthood and life with a newborn. Trust your own instincts whilst surrounding yourself with people who can support you with what you need.
A Hypnobirthing course can help you to prepare your mind and body for a calm, gentle and satisfying birth experience through relaxation, self hypnosis, breathing and visualisation.
Doula support can allow you and your family to relax knowing that someone is there to put you first; before, during and/or after the birth of your baby.
